Miss Lou

I am a hair dresser. I have been for 23 years. I love it. But one of the sad truths is you lose people. And today i recieved the sad news that i lost Miss Lou. She actually moved away several years ago. But she will always hold a special place in my heart. She was the tiniest woman with a mane of hair. It was hard to grasp at her age. Most 20 yr olds dont have that much hair. And i would always tease her.  Lou you look like hair with a woman, not a woman with hair. It is time for a hair cut.

But Lou was with me on the day the towers went down. He son, a flight steward was on duty that day. For several hours we kept an eye on the tv and her phone. She was sure he was ok. But until he called neither one of us wanted her to be alone. You see, i have a bond to most of my clients. They are family. We share our triumphs and our losses. And today my heart is heavy. And i miss that tiny woman who was walking hair.
